This article has four of the worst habits people have for breakfast.

Not Enough Fiber

Fiber rich foods help maintain bowel health. Consuming high fiber foods may lower your colon cancer risk and control your blood sugar and cholesterol. Good high fiber foods include whole grain toast and cereals. Any whole grain or whole wheat bagels or muffins. Fruit and vegetables are also great choices and better still if you can eat the peels. Avoid eating cereals with added sugar and white bread, as these can cause a rise in your blood sugar.

Starting Off with Sugar

Starting your day with a doughnut and a sweet coffee may be a tasty option, but it’s bad for your health. Too much sugar could put you at risk for type 2 diabetes, and other health problems. Choose unsweetened foods instead. On the occasion you want a doughnut, make them instead so they’re baked not fried.

Skipping Breakfast

Skipping breakfast could lead to health risks. A study conducted in 2019 found that people who skip breakfast are at a higher risk for heart disease, obesity, and other health issues. If you’re short on time, try Greek yogurt and berries or whole grain cereal with low fat milk.

Too Many Unhealthy Fats

Bacon and sausage are favorable breakfast foods but eating just a small amount could increase your risk of heart disease. Try some healthier alternatives like turkey bacon or turkey sausage.

Make Better Choices

What you choose to eat for breakfast can greatly impact your health, so starting your day off right is important. Breaking your bad habits will help you stay healthy and lower your risk for certain health problems. Making good choices will only help you in the future.
