Here are seven tasty and healthy fats to add to your diet.

Avocado

Famous as a “good fat” that tastes great, avocado is packed with the healthiest fats around, called “monounsaturated” fats. Avocado gives you an extra dose of fiber and potassium, and provides fats necessary for cardiovascular health.

Salmon

Salmon is jam-packed with omega-3 fats as well as protein, both necessary for a healthy heart and brain. Salmon is known to be one of the best foods to support brain function, and it’s yummy, too!

Flax & Chia Seed

Seeds like flax and chia are an easy source of healthy fats. They can be added to smoothies, casseroles, or veggie bowls. They’re also rich sources of plant-based fats for those who prefer not to eat meat and fish. Fiber and protein are extra added benefits from healthy seeds.

Yogurt

For those who can eat dairy, yogurt is a great source of both healthy fat and probiotics. Just be sure to choose the full-fat version. Greek yogurt is our favorite.

Eggs

Eggs always go in and out of favor, but they contain fats and choline which boost brain function and benefit your nervous system. Unless you’re vegan, say yes to eggs.

Olive Oil

Celebrated in every Mediterranean country, olive oil has long been known as a source of healthy monounsaturated fats in the form of oleic acid. These ancient fat sources promote heart health, low blood pressure, and a reduction in inflammation. Olive oil is an easy and tasty way to add healthy fats to your diet.

Dark Chocolate

Can desert benefit your body? It can if it’s dark chocolate! We’re not talking about the chocolate bars loaded with milk and sugar, but rather 70% and greater cocoa that boasts lots of healthy fats without the downside. Antioxidants also exist in dark chocolate, so eat in moderation and enjoy your fats!
